Blog Part 2
Personally, I'm not a fan of blogging. I kind of think it's a waste of time. If I want to share information with people or tell them certain things about my life I will do it face to face or over a phone call...not on the internet to people I barely know and just do it because I need a good participation grade in English 102. So with saying that, other blogs I found on the internet were pretty much just there for me meaning people just writing a bunch of stuff down for other people to read because they have nothing better to do. There are so many different types of blogs from academic, art, sports, philosophy, health, personal, and so much more. Michael Shanks blog was academic but commercial at the same time and I find that rare. Majority of the blogs did not seem too academic to me what so ever. Shanks used good imagery but I did not find that too much else where (maybe it was just the sites I was on). Academic writing is completely different from people writing down their random thoughts that they have during the day. The research paper that I am to write is supposed to be academic inquiry...that is why I have over 12 weeks to write it...not twelve minutes. Overall, I can see how some blogs are helpful and important and considered academic inquiry, but for the most part I feel blogging is pointless and people should find other activities to participate in rather than sitting in front of a computer screen reading about other peoples life and thoughts.
