Assignment for Friday
Does anyone else have a hard time writing these smaller assignments? I guess by smaller assignments, I mean the ones leading up to our research paper, where we are analyzing and discussing our sources. I keep finding relevant information, but I don't know how to put it down on paper, explain it and discuss how it's going to be useful in my final paper. I have pages of notes and my articles printed out filled with highlighting and more notes, but I am having a hard time actually writing the paper. Any suggestions? Or similar concerns?

I do not think you are alone in this matter, the ideas are not easy. I do however think that these smaller items are intended to help us in understanding the larger picture. I think that is why these smaller assignments are not graded is because everyone has a different way to approach them. What I would do is just write what you think you are supposed to and take feedback from your instructor and your peers into consideration when revising.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you pointed out that this stuff isn't graded. I definitely agree that it's helping us understand the whole picture. I guess I just worry too much about not writing it correctly and I need to remember that it's not the final paper, just a tool to help us when it comes to writing the final paper.
ReplyDeleteI have the same feeling as you do. I am very comfortable with my understanding of what we have to accomplish with our essay. I much rather, instead of doing these small assignments, begin working and analyzing what I will be doing for end result. I understand that the small papers we are currently writing are suppose to assist in the big picture, however, I feel personally if I were to take a different approach I would receive a better result.
ReplyDeletei agree, i put too much emphasis on these small assignments and i start to stress out becuase there are so many different ways you could write them. But they are good stepping blocks to reach your final paper.
