Research topic
So I've been doing a lot of research into my topic but now I've become a little weary about writing on stereotypes in Disney, because I found two great books that I was reading through and they discuss the portrayal of females in Disney eyes. I think that would be interesting and a lot of fun but I need some input... So comment your inputs they will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Well that example there isn't really that good. Walt Disney or Michael Eisner didn't write any of those stories from the example, those have all been around for a really long time. Now are you talking about Disney characters all being "hot," or are you talking about how they're all useless women that are saved by pretty eyes and a nice rack?
ReplyDeletei think this is extremely interesting! I have never looked at Disney characters that way and to have read that really has made me realize why little girls want to be beautiful or feel beautiful when they are too young to even understand what beauty really is. Cool topic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pang but Niles I was leading more towards the portray of the female gender in Disney movies. In most of their movies the portrayal of the women is that she needs and or desires a powerful man in her life. In one of the books I was reading the author Giroux states that “Children are believed to think that in the end that desire, choice, and empowerment are closely linked to catching and loving a handsome man”, because this is shown in so many of Disney movies.
