Topic
So my research topic is Marijuana. The history, uses, hemp products, crime related to it, legalization, and its future. I was just wondering what people have to say about marijuana, whether you know someone who has benefited from its medicinal purposes or you know someone who it a casual user. what are your ideas about legalizing? Should it be legalized for recreational use? What do you think would happen if it was legalized?

I just wanted to point this out, because I am also planning to write my paper about marijuana, but if you are talking about whether or not you think it should be legalized and if there are positive and/or negative outcomes from it being legalized, you aren't really making an academic inquiry, you are just researching and stating information and facts.
ReplyDeleteFor my paper, I am going to attempt to make a connection between discrimination against Hispanic people and stereotypes about marijuana and people who use it. I am not just talking about whether or not it should be legalized and what could happen if it was legalized.
I don't have any other ideas for you, but it's just something you might want to think more about...
i haven't really defined what my paper is going to exactly be about its not just going to be about legalization of marijuana. i plan on comparing the prohibition of alcohol to the prohibition of marijuana and how we may be able to predict the future of marijuana if legalized. by predict I mean that we may see a decrease or increase of crime. more or less d.u.i.'s. Basically what our culture would be like if it were legalized.

ReplyDeleteI'm also doing my paper on Marijuana... more so legalization than anything, and how it would be more beneficial. I know both people that use it recreationally and medicinally, or both. Because it is a natural substance that can be used as medicine, I feel that it should be legal for that reason. As for recreation, I think it depends on the individual and how they are using it.
ReplyDeleteTheres many ways you can go with this topic. You can also introduce the economic idea into your paper. Explain how the legalizing of Marijuana can benefit the U.S by taxing the shit out of it and the creating of companies and jobs. This could create a whole new economic shift in the U.S.
