This blogging space exists for students in EN102, at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. It represents "third space." What this "third space" will be, and what will happen here, is largely up to you.
What if you brought in both main advocates either for or against abortion and formulated a question along the lines of.. "Who should have the overriding decision regarding the legalization of abortion; the church or the state?"
ReplyDeleteThis way you can formulate your own opinion as to whether it is right that the state makes the decision or if the church has a say.
Remember that "formulating your own opinion" isn't really what we're trying to do here-- rather we are trying to produce new knowledge, insight, or understanding about something.
ReplyDeleteWhat Heaven needs to think about is where there is room for her to *analyze* (critique, expand, interpret, question). Instead of trying to pick a side, the point might be better framed as analyzing the "sides" in order to better understand the *complexity* of the positions that people on each "side" actually have . . . .
